Why do People Drink Isotonic Drinks?

Learn more about Isotonic Drinks and see if they are right for you at this time. Please read our unbiased review of Isotonic Drinks and make your final decision.

Isotonic drinks are preferred by athletes and many people for several reasons. These reasons include replacement of water and sodium, increased energy, and even replenishment for dehydration. Athletes often feel they have a better performance when drinking this instead of water.

Isotonic drinks are preferred by athletes because they contain additional nutrients the body needs when working out. When a body gets a big workout from running or playing a sport, it loses sodium and carbohydrates that are needed for energy to maintain the endurance it needs for a top performance. An isotonic drink contains a small amount of sodium and carbohydrates to replenish the loss.

When you look at the term ‘isotonic', it can be broken down to ‘iso' and ‘tonic'. Iso comes from Greek terminology meaning equal. Tonos refers to pressure. Putting the two words together creates the word isotonic. In isotonic drinks, there is the same concentration of sodium as can be found in blood plasma.

Sodium is lost in the body when you sweat. When you lose sodium, you also reduce the amount of water that you can excrete from the body also. The body absorbs sodium through the small intestine. Water is taken from the body when sodium is absorbed into the blood. When sodium is lost from the body through sweatingBusiness Management Articles, the amount of water that is excreted from the body is reduced.

Isotonic drinks also replenish dehydration. Dehydration is responsible for impairing someone's sporting performance drastically. When you drink more than just water but a drink that includes sodium and carbohydrates then you truly re-hydrate the body properly. These types of drinks are far more effective than just drinking water.

Performance can lack when you drink just water to rehydrate the body. This is because water doesn't contain what the body needs to be truly hydrated. The type of event a person is competing or taking part in doesn't matter. Some people think that isotonic drinks are for those in endurance events but this is not the case. Even an aerobic class or a 10 mile run can benefit from drinking replenishing drinks like these because they can help the body have the endurance it needs.

Many people think that they cannot afford isotonic drinks also. This should not be of any concern either. If you are working out every day and cannot afford to buy cases of these drinks to keep your body healthy and hydrated then you can make your own. All you have to do is add a pinch of salt to a bottle of water. The sodium is what you need.

Isotonic drinks are very good for the body and they can help anyone make it through an aerobics class or through a competitive sporting event. These drinks replenish the body with the needed sodium it needs so it can have the endurance to make it through an event. They provide replenishment to rehydrate and increase the body's energy too. The best thing any athlete can do is drink isotonic drinks and if you cannot afford them then make them yourself.

Why Being Vegetarian Will Help You Avoid Getting the H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu)

The H1N1 virus swine flu shots should arrive in October. Did you know that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) is recommending that at risk groups should get both the regular flu shot and the two series H1N1 virus flu shots, a total of three shots? Are you at risk for getting the flu and what should you do? I recommend that you get your life and health in order now. Consider why being vegetarian can help you do just that and strengthen your awareness and immune system from all flu’s.
The H1N1 virus swine flu shots should arrive in October. Did you know that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) is recommending that at risk groups should get both the regular flu shot and the two series H1N1 virus flu shots? Wow, that means you will have to get three shots. That scares the “heck” out of me and I am in the at risk group because of my age. Will I take these shots? Not on your life and not on mine! Why? I am a vegetarian and have built up my immune system everyday to combat against this and any virus! You need to start today to plan to stay healthy this fall, this flu season and all year round.

It is not the responsibility of the government, the CDC and medical community to make and keep you healthy. It is your responsibility. There is absolutely no proof that taking these three shots will “prevent” you from getting the swine flu. We all are at risk. Would I and should you put your life in the hands of a government that has (1) all but allowed our economy to collapse; (2) can’t figure out how to fix a failed health system; (3) has drowned us in debt and untold lives lost with 2 wars. Need I go on? You, my friend must take responsibility for your own health and not sit back and allow the government to tell you what to do.

Here are five reasons why going vegetarian will help you avoid getting the H1N1 virus (swine flu):

1. "Vegetarians avoid pork – dah!” – I get very annoyed when people refer to the CDC and say that according to the CDC swine flu is not spread from eating pork. Great! That solves all the problems, the CDC said… Making statements like this is going to the root of rescuing the agri-business of it’s responsibilities. Well guess what, genius, swine flu is from pork and “is endemic in pigs“ (see Wikipedia) . So rhetorically, I ask that person if we didn’t have pigs, would we have the H1N1 virus? We can play word and mental gymnastics on the subject all day long!

2. “Vegetarians immune systems are better" – carnivores can challenge me on this one. We can agree to disagree but recent studies and books all point to the fact that we are predominantly vegetarian and a vegetarian lifestyle is healthier than a meat eating one. You either accept this or you don’t and the proof is try it and see. That is where I lose 90% of my customers because they refuse to find out for themselves!

3. "Vegetarians are more health conscious" – I have yet to find a vegetarian who isn’t very serious about his/her health! We aren’t trying to demand people be vegetarian. We just say that if you do choose this lifestyle you will feel healthier and more alive than ever before.

4. “Vegetarians are particular about their restaurants” – I simply ask this question, do you know who prepared your food, what went into your food and what ingredients went into your food at the last restaurant you went to? You can be sure a vegetarian does because they want to be sure they are getting pure whole food. I also ask, do you know that if that cook or waiter coughing, sneezing on your food has swine flu?

5. “Vegetarians are serious about the health of the world” – the swine flu is believed to have spread to us from South America and possibly Mexico. Do we know for sure? Of course not but vegetarians, you can be sure conscientiously investigate where their food comes from and if it is truly organic, whole food and not processed with non-vegetarian ingredients. Is this a world view? I think so.

The CDC is going to have its hands full this flu season. I emphasize that it is not their responsibility to keep you healthy. It is yours. If you get sick, you simply become a statistic. They are not going to be held accountable. My most important recommendations besides getting and staying in tip top health are (1) be sure and cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze with a tissue or handkerchief and dispose of the tissue and wash the handkerchief after you use them; (2) frequently and especially after coughing or sneezing, touching door knobs, faucets in common areas or shared devices such as keyboards and mice, wash your hands with soap and water for at least as long as it takes you to say the alphabet. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also recommended but washing your hands with soap and water are best; (3) Try to think to avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth, three orifices that allow germs to enter the body and spread; (4) if you believe you have the flu or H1N1 flu, by all means stay at home and avoid contact with family, friends and business associates. Once infected you become a carrier and can spread the disease.

You need to start preparing today for the flu season that is about to spread a new virus called the H1N1 Virus or Swine Flu. If you want to learn more about how to become vegetarian, lose weight and be healthy this flu season go to Go Vegetarian!

Medicines Used For Skin Disorders

Acne (Pimples)

Acne or pimples is a very distressing skin disorder which affects adolescents and young people. As a rule, it is often genetically predisposed. It regresses with time but in some people it people it may become very severe, disfiguring the face and leaving a permanent scares. It is caused by an increased sensitivity to the male sex hormones - androgenic steroids. The cells of the hair follicle, which are extremely cohesive, grow faster.

The sebum (secretion from the glands of the skin) production increases;which plugs the tubes. This causes growth of acne bacilli which form an enzyme (lipase) causing an increased production of free fatty acids which are irritant to the skin. These bacteria also release some factors (chemotactic factors) that cause inflammation. The face, neck, chest, shoulders, and back are most commonly involved. Mild acne is characterized by an oily or greasy skin with closed or open, small sized papules (comedones); in moderate acne, papules or pustules are accompanied by inflammation. In severe form, nodules with inflammatory cysts are formed which leave a scares. Pus-discharging abscesses are rare.

Non-Drug Therapy:

Avoid drugs like corticosteroids, androgens, iodides, bromides, and androgenic progestins found in some oral contraceptives. If oral contraceptives are to be taken, mini pills should be avoided. Select the one which has a higher ratio of estrogen to progestins. This minimizes the androgenic effect of progestins. Avoid humid environments, occlusive cosmetic oils, and greases.

Diet

does not seem to play any role in acne. Minimize the oiliness by washing the area 2 to 3 times daily. Scrubbing with abrasive substances is not advisable as it may damage the delicate opening of the hair follicles through which the sebum flows. Mild soaps are enough. The comedones (blackheads) should never be manipulated or scratched, even if there is irritation. This leaves scars causing disfiguration. At least 4-6 weeks time is needed for improvement to occur. Lesions over shoulders, chest and back take longer time than this.

Various measures like reducing the sebum output, action on the follicles, action on propinonobacterium acnes, control of infection, have been tried. Most of the preparations contain sulphur, resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide alone or in combination, but they do not have any response on acne. The treatment requires regular use of effective medicines under the instructions of a physician.

Mild Acne

Liquid cleansers, lotions, and creams containing abrasive particles for removing surface debris, foe e.g., aluminium oxide, sodium tetraborate, polyethylene; drying agents such as alcohol or acetone; or peeling agents like sulphur, resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid are used for mild acne. Hot compresses may be as effective as some of the agents mentioned above.

Comedonol Acne

Small amount (pea size) of Tretinoin (Retino-A 0.05%) can be applied two times in a week initially at night (to avoid irritation). Then gradually it can be applied every night and left for about 20 minutes before the face is washed. Tretinoin is a vitamin-A derivative and prevents plugging of follicles. Usually it is used for 3-4 months.

Adverse Effects and Precautions:

It is an irritant drug and should be applied strictly as per instructions. The skin becomes red within 48 hours and begins to peel. It should be applied once at night and the sun should be avoided to reduce irritation. It should not be applied on any part of the skin having eczema. Its application on areas near the corners of the mouth, nose any part of should be minimised. Other peeling drugs like sulphur, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide may enhance irritation and should be avoided. Do not wash the face more then 2 to 3 times a day. Allergy to this drug is rare.

Benzoyl Peroxide (Pernox gel 2.5% persol forte 10%) is a water based formulation (alcohol free) so irritation is less. It causes peeling of unwanted skin cells.

Adverse Effects and Precautions:

Due to its peeling effect on the skin, it causes local irritation. If the irritation is severe, the dose and frequency of use may be reduced. It is applied for 15 minutes on the first evening. The duration of application is increased by 15 minutes every day until it is tolerated for 2 hours. It may, thereafter, be left on overnight. A possible allergic reaction may occur with this drug. The chances of allergy increase if it is applied under occlusive dressings or patches.

Comedo Extraction

Open comedones (with black heads) and close ones may be extracted with Comedo extractor by an experienced skin specialist. However, recurrence often takes place.

Acne with Papules and Pustules

Antibiotics are the main form of treatment. These can be given orally or applied locally as lotions.

Mild Acne

In mild acne local antibiotics Erythromycin (Acnesol, Acnederm, Erytop-Lotion 2%, 3% Gel 4%); Clindamycin (Clindy 1%), Metronidazole (Metroderm), and Lincomycin (Lynx Gel 2%) are useful.

These can be applied two times a day. Benzoyl peroxide may be used along with any preparations, but only in the mornings. If required, Tretinoin 0.025% may be applied at night.

Moderate Acne

Tetracycline caps (Terramycin) 500 mg twice a day, Erythromycin (Erythrocin) 500mg twice day, Doxycycline cap (Microdox) 100 mg once or twice a day or minocycline (Cynomycin) 50-100mg twice a day are equally effective and are used for about a week. If required topical antibiotics may be used. Sometimes spironolactone (Aldactone) 50-100mg/day acts as useful supplementary drug. It acts by opposing androgen effects. Local injection of dilute solutions of Triamcinolone (2.5mg/ml) are used by some skin specialists into the papules and small cysts. Adapalene (Adapen 0.1 %) is a milder form of vitamin-A derivative used in mild to moderate acne.

Severe Acne

Isotretinoin (Isotroin 10mg) is a vitamin-A type of drug useful in severe cystic (cavities) acne. It is a potent agent and may cause malformations in new born when taken by pregnant women. Hence an informed consent is to be given by woman of childbearing age. It is given in a dose of 0.5-1 mg/kg in a day for 20 weeks.

Adverse Effects and Precautions:

Increased blood sugar, fats, depression, headache, dry lips, nose-bleed and bone pains are noted. It should be taken only under regular medical supervision.

Other drugs

Azelaic acid 10% cream (Aziderm), Glycolzc acid 10% (Glyaha Lotion) are also helpful.

Drugs Aggravating Pimples .

If you are suffering from pimples, watch out for drugs like corticosteroids, the male sex hormone - androgen, progestogens, isoniazid, iodides, bromides, phenobarbitoneBusiness Management Articles, and phenytoin in any of the preparations you are taking. These aggravate pimples.

The Secret To Coping With Acne

Although acne is a physical skin condition its effects can be far more than simply skin deep and an understanding of this is essential to following an effective treatment plan.

It is only in extremely rare cases that acne presents a serious health risk but its effects can nevertheless still be severe. The unsightly blemishes which acne produces and the appearance of having unhealthy skin will almost always result in at least mild depression or worse. It is important therefore that you take steps to treat the condition and to reduce its effects to a minimum. Most people cannot afford the services of a professional dermatologist on a regular basis, but just a single visit can provide you with a great deal of useful information and advice about your acne, as well as a prescription for acne medication. Of course there is a huge amount of free information available today, not least on the Internet, but it is always helpful to have a professional diagnosis of your particular form of acne and to have someone with experience in treating the condition to point you in the right direction.

The medication you use is itself important, not only to treat the condition but also because of the psychological effect if can have. As the medication reduces the number of your lesions and increases the time between outbreaks so your skin will gradually clear. This can however be a lengthy process and so, even when your acne is still present, the knowledge that you are doing everything you can to combat the problems is in itself very helpful.Simply accepting acne as an inevitably part of growing up and doing nothing actively to combat it is never a good solution. You will undoubtedly feel bad about your skin condition every time you look in the mirror and realize just how you look to other people and believing that there is nothing you can do about it will simply make matters worse as time goes by. Indeed, it becomes something of a self-fulfilling prophecy as you watch the condition getting worse before it gets better. But taking action will provide you with a very positive attitude of mind.

Acne will not disappear overnight even with the best treatment in the world and for many people treating acne can take a very long time. Nevertheless, even a slight improvement in the condition as a result of treatment gives you confidence in the fact that it can be treated and spurs you on to stick with a sound treatment regime. This however has another, and in some ways greater, benefit in building your inner resources which create a frame of mind and outlook which focus your attention on achieving other goals, rather than simply turning in on yourself and dwelling on this one unfortunate, though often short-lived, problem. The vast majority of people between the ages of 12 and 24 will suffer from acne but, with the proper treatment, it is often only mild and can be cleared up in a matter of a few short weeks. And remember that, since you are far from being alone in suffering from acne, you can put up with it as an inevitable part of growing up as long as you only have to do so for a relatively short period of time.

Because of its very nature acne is as much, if not more ofBusiness Management Articles, a psychological rather than a physical problem and understanding this and taking positive action to deal with the condition right from the outset is extremely important.

Popular Cosmetic Dentistry- Whitening and Braces

Cosmetic dentistry encompasses several different procedures which we will investigate. You may even have some of these procedures in your mouth right now. . .in fact the odds are that you have had some type of cosmetic dental procedure in your lifetime. It's important to meet with your dentist for an initial examination to determine if you are a candidate for cosmetic dental work. Your teeth must be in good condition before any cosmetic work is undertaken. If any type of dental disease is present, your dentist will explain what needs to be accomplished before proceeding with cosmetic work.

Once that is determined the dentist will explain the various cosmetic options available that are suitable for your needs, whether it be braces, bridges, bonding, veneers, bleaching and so on.

Whitening is one of the primary reasons that people consider cosmetic procedures. But, it's important to realize that often whiteners alone may not help. In fact, studies by the American Dental Association have shown that teeth with a yellowish tone will whiten well with a bleaching process whereas teeth that are brownish may not bleach well and grayish teeth may not bleach well at all. If you have had other cosmetic processes done and then decide to try whitening, you could end up with a very undesirable effect of not having all your teeth uniform in color. It's important to follow the advice of your dentist and not be swayed by advertising or how your best friends' work turned out!

Braces.

While you may have worn braces as a child, braces are now a treatment option for adults as well although realignment may take longer for an adult. In some cases an adult will require more than just an orthodontic procedure.

Braces are the recommended treatment to correct an orthodontic problem called malocclusion or "bad bite." A few of the causes of the bad bite are extra, missing or crowded teeth. This condition is usually inherited although some may be caused by accident or other means. Having a tooth knocked out and chronic thumb or finger sucking may contribute to a bad bite.

Before treatment can begin, a thorough history is necessary for the dentist to render a proper prognosis. The dentist may take numerous xrays, plaster molds and photos of your face and teeth before determining whether orthodontics is an appropriate method to apply to your individual situation.

If the dentist determines that your treatment requires mechanical appliances, the information gathered in his preliminary examination will help to create your custom appliance(s). There are many different types of appliances and the best recourse is the one created specifically for you.

Once created and put in place, the appliances will require periodic adjustments. The dentist needs to monitor the progress frequently in order to assure that the teeth are shifting in position accurately.

Finally, once the appliances have done their work, they will be replaced by a "retainer." The retainer will stay in place so that the newly aligned teeth will remain in their proper location.

One of the first questions from patients is usually, "how long will I have to wear this?" This not a "one size fits all" situation as the time varies from patient to patient. It will take as long as it takes and greatly depends on patient cooperation. Average time for orthodontic treatment is around 24 months with adult treatments requiring just a bit longer. Other factors apply, of course, such as how severe the bad biteBusiness Management Articles, overall gum and tooth health not to mention how well the patient cooperates with the procedure. Most people who have worn braces report years later that it was well worth it!

Haven't you noticed that whenever you watch TV or go to the cinema how great the stars of the show or film look? Well, in case you didn't know already, they have to do a lot of work to stay that way, and of course if they slow down, the public will notice immediately and their reputation could be destroyed overnight.

Most celebrities have their own way of staying in shape and looking great. Eating well balanced diets is a part of life for many stars and of course having a fitness expert on hand will help.

Here are some tricks many celebrities use to stay in shape.

Some use the 40:30:30 diet. The 40 being fruits, vegetables and beans. 30 being fish, chicken and low fat dairy products. The last 30 being fish oils, olive oils, nuts etc.Combining these foods into your diet will help you to lose weight and keep in shape.

Another diet used by some women in Hollywood, is to eat high protein meals in lesser portions. This must be used in conjunction with an exercise program that consists of weight training and heart exercises. Using such a diet can put a lot of stress on your body so please be aware.

Many women stars tell you that not eating late at night, or early in the evening will help to keep your weight under control. This actually contradicts what many nutritionists believe but nevertheless it seems to work for them.

Yoga is something many top women stars do each day. Combine this with a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables will help you control your weight.

Stay away from McDonalds and other fast food outlets and stick with eating good lean meat and protein.

Drinking herbal teas is very popular with women stars. The best drink to help you stay in shape is of course Green Tea.

Basically these stars do not over-indulge in junk foods and never over eat. You too can get results like they do if you take care of your body and actually take action.

When you see something that many stars personally take each day as a part of their diet, then it really is time to sit up and take notice. One such product is now becoming very popular with many stars like Amanda Walsh, Beau Bridges, Cheryl Hines, Paula Abdul, Kate Burton, Kevin Dillon and many more is Cheia Vida.

This exotic Rain Forest formulation consisting of "Superfoods" is now becoming a part of thousands of people's lives across the USA. With Acai, Green Tea, Cha De Bugre and Yerba Mae all ingredients within this product, it truly is a powerful health beverage.

There are of course many different products available to help you in your search for a better shape. Do some research and find products that not only help you lose weight, but also assist with improving your health.

So, if you want to diet like the stars, take heed from the advice above and most importantlyFree Web Content, take action.

Losing Cellulite - Helpful Tips In Losing Cellulite

Those unsightly little dimples that appear on the back of your thighs and on your butt as you grow older or gain weight are commonly known as cellulite.

Women are most likely to get cellulite in their 30's. The exact cause of cellulite is not known and there is no magic cure for it, which makes losing cellulite a full time battle for many. But there are steps you can take to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

  • The first step to take is to lose excess weight. Cellulite is made up of fat cells, so the more fat cells you have the more cellulite you can develop. On the average, women lose 5 pounds of muscle and develop 15 pounds of fat each decade. In addition, the skin gets thinner with age so fat cells will be more prominent. Eat a healthy well balanced diet and try to get to your ideal body weight. Drink plenty of water each day to flush your body of toxins and to hydrate your skin.
  • The next best step to take to lose cellulite is to exercise. You need to replace the fat cells with muscle and the best way to do this is through daily exercise. A combination of cardio, strength training and flexibility should do the trick. The cardio portion of the exercise program should consist of 2 minutes of moderate walking, cycling or stair climbing. You should increase the intensity for 8 minutes and get to the point of breathing hard but still able to talk in short sentences. After cardio, it's important to cool down for about 2 minutes. It is okay to use indoor exercise equipment.Follow the cardio with 15 minutes of strength training exercises, targeting the problem areas. For example, if your problem area is your thighs you should do exercises specifically designed for increasing muscle in your thighs such as leg lifts. Adding ankle weight as you progress will help also. For cellulite on the buttocks, do lunges or squats with ankle weights and holding light weights at your side. The most important part of the exercises is to stretch after each part of the strength training exercise. This will help to increase the length and flexibility of the muscle and also decrease your risk for injury. It will also help to increase your strength so you can increase your workouts over time and build more muscle. Some women prefer the Pilates workout that combines strength and flexibility exercises.

Creams that claim they can reduce cellulite have not been proven to be effective. The use of spray on tans may reduce the appearance of cellulite. If you have money to burn, you can always try the more expensive alternative such as laser treatments or liposuction. But be aware these are not the cure all and the cellulite can come back.Losing cellulite isn't easy, but with the right diet and exercise, those cottage cheese thighs can be just a memory. There are some very good resources that go into far greater detail on getting rid of cellulite that you can find on the Internet.

Information About Breathing

Good breathing is essential to relaxation, a fact that is becoming increasingly recognized in both the complementary and orthodox medical professions.

Breathing properly can ease tension and promote calmness, which has an extremely important effect on the way our bodies function. When we are stressed or anxious, we breathe more rapidly, using only the upper part of the chest. This offers the quickest boost of oxygen to the system, but in the long run is not effective. When we are tired or depressed, we breathe more deeply, exhaling heavily and sighing.Naturopaths believe breathing clean air is essential to health because clean air oxygenates the blood and makes the tissues function more efficiently.

Air is also believed to have antiseptic properties. But breathing clean air on its own is not enough: how you breathe is also considered vitally important. The correct way to breathe is using the diaphragm, a muscle separating the chest from the abdomen. Contractions and relaxations of the diaphragm force the flow of air in and out of the lungs. Diaphragmatic breathing is more relaxing and more efficient since the lungs are able to fill and empty completely. In turn, the body is able to work more effectively since it has a good quality supply of oxygen with which to do so. When we breathe from the chest, as we do in times of tension, fear, or anxiety, waste products build up in the lungs, leading to increasingly less efficient breathing and a feeling of tiredness and lethargy.

Most practitioners will offer advice on breathing efficiently, and many therapies are focused around it, including Relaxation, Alexander Technique, Yoga, and Meditation.Practitioners encourage long deep breaths that expand the rib cage, and also the use of air baths and ionizers to improve the quality of air for patients with respiratory conditions.

Antiaging skin care

‘Antiaging skin care’ is a very popular concept in today’s world. Today everyone wants to hide their age using antiaging skin care procedures (and a number of people are successful too).

However antiaging skin care is not achieved by any magic potion.

‘Antiaging skin care’ is about discipline. It is about being proactive. Antiaging skin care is retarding the ageing process. Here are a few tips for proactive antiaging skin care:

1. Maintain healthy eating habits: A well balanced diet is the key to maintaining a proper body metabolism. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables (raw), they are the best source of fibre and have a very refreshing effect on your body. Avoid oily and fatty food; not only do they lack in essential nutrients but also cause obesity and other diseases which aid the aging process

2. Beat stress: This is probably the most important antiaging skin care measure. Stress disturbs the body metabolism and accelerates the aging process. Sleep, exercise and a relaxing bath, are all good ways of beating stress. Aroma-therapy is also known to bust stress.

3. Drink a lot of water: Antiaging skin care can’t be any simpler than this. Water helps in flushing out the toxins from the body, hence keeping it clean and making it less prone to disease. Around 8 glasses of water (per day) is recommended by all doctors.

4. Regular exercise is a wonderful antiaging skin care procedure. Besides toning your muscles, it also helps in cleaning the skin by flushing out the toxins in the form of sweat. Exercise should be followed by a warm shower in order to completely remove the toxins.

5. Avoid the use of strong, chemical based products on your skin. Natural skin care products are a good option. Use of organic skin care products (home made or commercial) can be a very effective antiaging skin care measure.

6. Do not overuse skin care products. Excessive and harsh application, both are harmful.

7. Do not ignore skin disorders; it can lead to permanent skin damage. Try over the counter medication and if that doesn’t help, immediately visit your dermatologist and seek his/her advice.

8. Vitamin C based skin care products are very popular means of antiaging skin care. However, these seem to oxidise very quickly (which makes them harmful for the skin). So store them properly. If the product turns Yellowish brown, it means that vitamin c has oxidised and the prodct is no longer suitable for use.

9. Protect your skin against UV radiation ; UV rays are known to speed up the aging process. So, a good sunscreen lotion should be a part of your antiaging skin care routine.

10 Steps to Full Body Detox

You've done a body detox plan before and notice the results where off not too long afterwards. What's the problem? The deal is that as soon as you stop using your body detox plan, you immediately start putting toxins back in your body. While our focus is on permanent elimination, adapting certain tips in your daily life will help your body stay cleansed.Adapting these tips in your daily life will help your body stay cleansed

1. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. This is one of the most basic recommendations. However, the amount is no longer eight glasses a day. The recommended amount is your body weight divided by 2 in oz. of water. For example, if you weigh 100 lbs/2=50 oz of water.

2. While water inside your body is a good way to detox, using water on the outside of your body also helps. Try a hot shower for five minutes, alternating a few times with cold water for 30 seconds. Take a rest for 30 minutes afterwards. This will extend the results of your home body detox.

3. Look for ways to bolster a clean liver with herbal supplements and drinking green tea. Your natural food store can make recommendations. Your liver plays an important role in keeping your body working properly.

4. Eat foods which are naturally detoxifying, such as leafy greens and seaweed. Bulk up on fiber. Try to stick to organic fruits and vegetables. Stay away from caffeine, sugar and nicotine.

5. An OJ a day does keep the doctor away. Actually, juices are high in sugar, but make sure to take plenty of Vitamin C. This helps liver function also.

6. Sweat it out....literally. Perspiration is one way your body naturally removes waste. Try sweating in a hot tub or sauna to help eliminate toxins.

7. Take a deep breath. The deeper you breathe, the more oxygen circulates in your blood and helps keep it clean. This is one of the easiest ways to promote health. When you breathe deeply, your stomach should come out as you breathe in and deflate like a balloon when you breathe out.

8. Exercise, exercise, exercise. This is still one of the best ways to remove toxins from the system and help increase energy levels. Yoga is highly recommended, as well as other eastern forms of exercise which specifically have movements to promote detoxification such as qigong.
9. Learn to deal with stress. High levels of stress cause hormone changes which actually can hinder the detoxification process. Dealing with stress effectively aids in natural body detox. Try meditation or therapy. A couple of minutes daily can make all the difference in the world.

10. Exfoliate your skin by dry-brushing. Don't use any salt or sugar scrubs, as these may have chemicals in them that will harm your body. You can also purchase special baths to help eliminate waste through your pores.

All these recommendations are important to keep your body cleansed. While you may not be able to do them all at once, slowly incorporating them into your daily routine helps bolster your chances for success.

Exercise Tips For High Blood Pressure

Suffer from high blood pressure? Discover the true way to lower your blood pressure without drugs or medication.

It’s a no brainer that regular exercise can help lower high blood pressure. To help you throw your sedentary (inactive) lifestyle out the window and decrease your BP values, incorporate some of these exercises into your daily routine and watch your BP amazingly decrease.
If you do have blood pressure keep in mind that it’s one of the top risk factors for heart disease. Luckily, it's a risk factor that you can do something about. Lets get started.

What’s the best BP lowering exercise?

A combination of all three forms of exercise listed below:

1. Stretching or the slow lengthening of the muscles. Stretching your upper and lower body before and after exercising helps prepare the muscles for activity and helps prevent injury. Consistent stretching will also increase your range of motion and flexibility in your muscles and joints.

2. Aerobic exercise is steady physical activity (usually 30 minutes or more) using large muscle groups. This type of exercise will strengthen your heart, lungs and also improve your body's ability to utilize oxygen.
Continuing to engage in aerobic exercise for the long term will allow you to see a decrease in your heart rate, blood pressure and breathing.

3. Resistance exercises are done by lifting weights and allowing your muscles to contract (shorten) and expand (lengthen)

FYI – Forms of Aerobic Exercise

Aerobic exercises include: walking, jogging, jumping rope, bicycling (stationary or outdoor), cross-country skiing, skating, rowing, high or low-impact aerobics, swimming and water aerobics.

How long should I exercise in order to see BP results?

Usually, to achieve maximum benefits, you should gradually work your way up to an aerobic session lasting anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes, at least three to four times a week.

What Your Program Should Include

Your exercise sessions should include a warm-up phase, conditioning phase and a cool-down phase.
  • Warm-up.

This allows your body to slowly adapt itself from rest to exercise. Doing a warm-up will also reduce the stress on your heart and muscles, slowly increase your breathing, circulation (heart rate) and body temperature. It also helps improve flexibility and reduce muscle soreness.
A good warm-up includes light stretching, range of motion activities (arm circles) and the beginning of the activity at a light intensity level.

  • Conditioning.

Following the warm-up, the conditioning phase is where you’ll be putting a lot of your energy. At this point the benefits of exercise are gained and calories will be burnt. Be sure to monitor the intensity of the activity (check your heart rate) and try not to go too hard too fast.

  • Cool-down.

This is the last phase of your exercise session. The cool down will allow your body to gradually recover from the conditioning phase. Your heart rate and blood pressure should return back to normal within a few minutes.

Now a lot of people have this theory that cool-down means to sit down. Boy, is this ever wrong! Please don’t sit, stand still or lie down right after exercise. This may cause you to feel dizzy or lightheaded. The best cool-down is to slowly decrease the intensity of your activity.

Overcoming Depression with Stress Management Hypnosis

Depression is often the result of an identity crisis and can be a manageable emotion. Learning how to embrace and move through the emotion can once again bring enthusiasm for living.

Depression can be hell. Basically three scenarios contribute to depression. The first is an identity crisis.

Example: John, my client, (referred to me by his doctor), sheepishly looked at me and said, "I just can't get the energy to get up from bed in the morning. As I look at my 90 yr. old mother I know that in just another twenty years or so my body will look like hers. And what's worse whenever I visit her she says, 'I just want to die and get it over with.'"

He went on to say, "We all observed President Regan, a powerful man, reduced to the limitations of Alzheimer's disease. At one time in my life I thought I'd become a successful business man and instead I am now retired owing a lot of money with a only a few nest eggs that will never make me rich. One of the commentators in the movie The Secret said the purpose of life is what we make it. It seems to me that my purpose has come and gone. Some people owe me money and I doubt that I'll ever receive it. Yet, I have to ask myself why it matters anyway? There are a lot of people that would give their 'eye teeth" to have what I have. They would ask, 'Why's he depressed, he is CEO of his own company that runs itself, has a beautiful young fun-to-be-with wife, and a gorgeous home that many would die for...?'"

It's easy to see that John was in the midst of an identity crisis brought on by his semi retirement. He had relinquished control of his business to someone else and unlike most clients who are in denial, he acknowledged he was depressed and felt guilty for being depressed. He noticed that no mater how much he fought it, it persisted.

The second scenario that leads to depression is that with many clients there is a love hate dichotomy. There's a person or situation which for some reason (for a variety of reasons) they feel that they should like but in reality they hate the situation or person and can't allow themselves to acknowledge or feel the hatred.

Example: After Lyn's mother passed away, her father came to live with her and her family. Strangely though, as a child she hated her dad and in many ways blamed him for his mother's passing. I found it quite ironic that she'd take him in and asked her how she feels about her father today. Her answer was, "You're supposed to love your father, aren't you?"
Her inability to resolve this conflict of feeling led to her depression.

Back to John. I had him list all the reasons why he shouldn't feel depressed. Some of them were:"I feel like I'm an ingrate.""It's no fun.""I don't even like being around myself."
The third scenario that contributes to depression is a string of stressful events (situational depression) such as change in supervisors (from a good one to a bad one), financial loss, uncertainty in business, worry... It's easy for some of these to be connected with identity crisis, but generally when the stressors are resolved or disappear, the depression lifts.

On a physical level, among several dietary recommendations, I had John add Vitamin B complex, Vitamin D, and Magnesium Citrate to facilitate the production of tryptophan. Tryptophan is instrumental in the creation of serotonin.

Next we worked with his sudden loss of self esteem. And, rather than continue the path of fighting depression I taught John how to embrace the emotion of depression, acknowledge his resistance to it and practice option training.

Option training is for him to remind himself on a regular basis that he has options such as learning from the experience, benefiting somehow from it, moving beyond it, generating new interests...

After the third session of option training he said, "I received a photo of a toddler my cousin just adopted--it was angelic. I placed it on the dining table where every time I looked at it I smiled. Then other things began happening. I began picking up tid bits of wisdom from the things I read. Sometimes I actually forgot what it felt like to be depressed and the times I do feel depressed, I stopped resisting it and simply went with it. As I stopped fighting it I generated some enthusiasm to do something."

But what really contributed to his depression was that he knew the man who he chose to operate his company was not the right man for the job. The company was not going in the right direction and eventually by terminating that employee and taking back the reins of his company he lifted a tremendous weight from his being.

Look at the word "Depress ed" It's like a weight depressing one--the weight being the pressures of life. He wanted the employee to work out but it didn't. He lost control of his company and didn't like it's direction and by taking back the reins the depression was "lifted." Actually the weight that held him down was lifted.

In summary, conquering depression is to:

1. Acknowledge being depressed

.2. Learn to embrace the emotion.

3. Acknowledge the resistance to feeling depressed.

4. Aim the creative intelligence for options.

This along with creative hypnosis releases the subconscious mind to find enthusiasm and meaning in life to lift depression.
